So yesterday was craft day. We don't really have a "craft day", just when the mood strikes kind of thing. Owen made thanksgiving turkey's out of traces of his hand & foot. He made the first one before lunch then it was nap time so we had to take a break from the crafts. When he woke up I asked him if he wanted to make more turkey's for Grandma, Grandpa & Papa. His response was "well...that might be nice" so funny!.
this one's my favourite. notice the face is sideways.
Before bed I was asking him what he did that was fun that day, his answers always surprise me. He said " I went to Wonderland today" ummmm. no. but good try buddy. I reminded him of making the turkey's & he said " Oh yeah! I pushed on the eyes & banged on the nose"
"yes you glued & pressed the eyes & beak on the turkey"
"Mommy...It's a chicken. Just looks like a turkey"
who can argue with that?

Magic Party
This past sunday we were invited to a friends 5th birthday party. Cheryl always has fantastic ideas for kids & this party was no exception! I'm sure V's entire kindergarten class plus more friends were there, kids were everywhere!. There was definite potential for chaos but everything ran smoothly & fun was had by all. The theme of the party was "magic" complete with a magic wand making craft, organized games, magic show & a huge cake. Owen had a great time & has been talking about magic ever since. He only sat to watch the show for a short time, but he still enjoyed what he saw!

7 Months Old
Wow 7 months old already!. I can't get over how quickly time is passing (I know I always say that), the past few days I've been thinking about when I have to return to work. I am so not ready to end my maternity leave, only a few more months! Seven months was how long I was off with Owen, & while we are lucky to have that long of a parental leave in Ontario, it is still not long enough.
This past month has brought huge changes for my sweet Noah, he is no longer my little baby. Suddenly he went from sitting for very short periods of time on his own, to sitting completely alone for huge lengths of time. It's crazy that it literally happened overnight. One day he was pushing himself backwards while sitting & the next he's sitting up straight, & regaining balance all on his own.
His new favourite thing is to stand up. He can stand holding onto something, or pull himself to standing holding onto your hands. When we sit him back down he gets so mad, he just wants to stand all of the time.
He is really wanting to crawl, but hasn't figured it out yet. When he's on his belly he looks like he is trying to swim. A few times he's gotten close to getting his knee under him, I'm sure he'll figure it out soon enough. Usually while trying to get moving he gets himself flipped over onto his back, that really gets him angry! He gets so frustrated when he can't get moving. I'm not ready for a mobile baby just yet, but I'm thinking I may only have another month or so.
Still no teeth for the little guy, I'm sure they are to blame for his sleepless nights. Just two nights ago he moved into his own bedroom! I think it will be best for all of us, we are hoping that everyone sleeps better having their own space. I was expecting to move him into his own room around the five month mark, but suddenly five months turned into seven!
Oh & this was my 200th blog post! never thought I'd see the day...

Little Artist
While Noah works on his teeth, Owen loves working on art projects. It's probably one of his favourite things to do, I just don't get around to setting up art projects often, as I'm the one left to clean the mess. However, Owen took direction well & the mess really was minimal, he even listened & didn't get glue in his hair! proud mama of a two year old I am. I think we'll be doing more fun projects soon.
He gets so into his work.
and quite honestly I love his finished projects & how proud of his art he is.

Baby Teeth
I really hope for Noah's sake that these first baby teeth cut soon! poor little baby has been suffering & not sleeping well for days. He refuses to let me look in his mouth & I don't feel a tooth yet, but I know they are on their way. He chews on everything, here he is chewing the life out of his sippy cup. His teething ring has become his new best friend, & he can sure chomp down hard on your finger with those gums! ouch.
