Saigon Traffic Video |
Please try to ignore the terrible music on this video! This is what the traffic is like in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City),there are few if any traffic rules. Apparently the best way to cross the road is to not look, close your eyes and hope for the best!.I suppose it may be best not to know what type of vehicle took your life (a bus, car scooter?)would it matter?
Anyone that knows me could probably picture this scenario: Gavin and baby across the street safe, while I am left stranded on the other side trying to build my nerve up to cross in that chaos! I can picture it now, and for the record that had better not happen!

Oh man, that reminds me of Cambodia! Although Ho Chi Minh City is much larger and busier than Phnom Penh, so I'm a bit nervous! It's amazing to watch...like organized chaos.
oh boy. now I am scared.
Just so you know, I have been terrified of crossing the streets in Vietnam since I first read about the traffic. I too will just be stuck on the other side of the road while Justin runs across without thinking twice. It really does scare me quite badly!
Oh, for the love of all that's good in this world!!! All I can think about is that I'm a HUGE klutz. I can just envision me trying to cross the street, trip somehow, then get completely mutilated by a variety of wheels. I'd better make sure my life insurance premiums are paid up before I leave for Vietnam. LOL
Hey..I dodged cars, bikes and buses in China..it isn't fun, especially with your new baby in a stroller!!! Should have gotten some of that on video LOL
Oh my God - she said 'with a stroller'!!! I was thinking about taking a stroller!!! No way now... uh huh... now I'll be bringing only baby carriers so at least she'll be strapped to my body and not hanging out in traffic in a metal contraption. Oh my... that's scary *lol*
haha - try crossing with 4 little kids in town!!!! haha. not that i've done it or anything bwa hahaha. FWIW it is not really that bad everywhere and usually where it is THAT bad there is a traffic light so it comes in waves. People clearly don't try to cross in that!!! I'm totally blogging this today though, thanks! I love it!
Check out my news, girl!!!!!
This is so amazing! Does anyone have stats on traffic accidents?

This is what we've found: in District 1 (the touristy area) there are street lights and crosswalks and while *all* the traffic doesn't stop, most of it does and it really isn't too scary to cross the street. I still won't attempt crossing at the busy places where there's no light - it's scary!!
