13 Months Old

Not such a baby anymore! Noah is acting much more like a toddler every week. It makes me a little sad, but I know how fun these times can be and I look forward to experiencing new things with Noah. He is almost 100% on milk we just have half a can of formula we are working through, other than that he eats exactly what we are eating. He can tell if you try and sneak him different food and will have a huge fit. The temper tantrums have certainly come early with this boy, starting around ten months. If he doesn't get his way he will throw himself on the floor kicking and screaming. If you ignore the behaviour he will follow you around the house doing it! I can't believe how much older that makes him. My boy climbs everything, including the outside of the staircase! such a daredevil. We really have to keep our eye on him at all times. One thing that has made him seem older lately is his ability to follow direction and respond to questions with shaking his head yes or no. He is understanding and learning so much!. He's added a few more words (yay, bye, and both my mom and I have heard him say banana or something similar at least), and two more teeth on the top.

and finally some walking video! He started taking his first steps at ten months and we are just now posting video. He is a good walker and can change direction easily. He's been walking around the house more than crawling and he gets quite upset if he falls down.

We celebrated St. Patrick's day a little early here. We dressed in green, wore silly glasses, silly headbands, and even ate green pancakes! The kids searched for chocolate coins around the house and made shamrock crafts.

We stayed a little too late at the park and played a little too hard :)

My mom looked after the kids while Gavin and I went away for the weekend. It was the first time the two of us had been gone overnight since Owen came home!. I had left a detailed list of instructions for my mom, mostly outlining the kids daily "routine". I was sure Owen would try and take advantage of the situation, but he was great!. We called home just before we went out for dinner to check on the kids. My mom said that after she hung up the phone Noah kept saying "mama" and grabbing at the phone. I guess after he had heard my voice on the phone he thought I was in it or something. After only one night away we were eager to get home to see them.

Sweet Owen - He is such a little boy now. Carrying on huge conversations, telling us all about his stay with Grandma.

Noah - he's a walker now! walks all over the place, barely crawls. I will share video when I can. He is really steady, and hardly ever falls down. When he thinks he's walked far enough he carefully lowers himself to his knees. I remember when Owen first started walking he would weave back and forth, Noah doesn't really do that. He looks like he's been walking for months. He also looks like he needs a haircut, which is obvious by this photo :) I guess I should comb his hair more often.

We've been spending lots of time outside, the weather has been great. I don't let Owen take his soother outside, he has to keep it at home. He obviously snuck it past me this time. Sneaky boy.
